Find Our Hawaii Bed and Breakfast in Captain Cook
From Kona Airport:
- Take a right out of the airport and go for approximately 18 miles.
- This route will take you on Route 19, the Kaahumanu Hwy, through Kona. It turns into Route 11 just after exiting Kona. (It’s the same road . . . just keep going straight).
- Follow Route 11 up the big hill and through the town of Kealakekua. You’ll pass a McDonalds, and then about a mile and a half after that, Pineapple Park Hostel on the right and a Shell Gas Station on the left. This is right around mile marker #111.
- Just after the Shell Station, you hit a big intersection with stoplights. At this light, go straight and this is our road, Napoopoo.
- Reset your odometer and go 1.1 (one and 1/10th) miles. Shortly after that, the road will curve to the left, and then back to the right. We’re on the left hand side. The driveway before our driveway, on the left, there is a square, white sign w/ black letters that say “SK”. (This is not us!) We’re the next drive on the left. We’re 82-5990 Napoopoo, and there’s a yellow, oval sign just AFTER the drive that says “Ka’awa Loa Guesthouse”. (Note: If you hit mile marker # 10, you’ve gone 2 driveways too far!)
- Turn up the steep paved drive and follow it until it curves to the left. Where the road forks, stay to the left & proceed to the big plantation style home.
From the Volcano Side:
- Follow Route 11 around the South Side of the Big Island until you pass Mile Marker #110 and the Manago Hotel. Shortly after there will be an Aloha Gas Station on the left, and then you come to an intersection with stoplights. At this light, Take a left onto Napoopoo Road.
- Reset your odometer and go 1.1 (one and 1/10th) miles. Shortly after that, the road will curve to the left, and then back to the right. We’re on the left hand side.
